Hey guys!

Well, as you know, the holidays are here! Yep, that's right, there's a lot of shopping going on these days. My school is going to have a sing along, where we sing Christmas songs like Rudolph the red nose reindeer, Frosty the snowman, and the one and only, Jingle Bells. I am going to play Jolly ol' Saint Nick. At my house, my sister and I are going to dress  up in our best Christmas clothes and our cute Santa hats! I can't wait! And there's the winter break too!
      Happy holidays!

Hey guys!

I feel as if there are ants in my pants ( well, technically pajamas). I took a test last month for the Gifted and Talented program at school, and I got the letter that I passed! I can hardly sit still, how exciting! Many of my friends go to GNT, and now I get to join them. You can probably guess from it's name that Gifted and Talented program is for gifted and talented students, duh! I heard that in GNT, you learn ahead of what you're already learning. Also, you get to do cool presentations and learn about ancient history. Awesome!!!
I'm actually also a little nervous because if you get two "c's", you're out of the program. That's ok though, I know I'll do good!

Hi guys!

Tomorrow my mom is taking me to girl scout's. I can hardly wait! The thing I REALLY like about girl scouts is that they do good services for their community and do fun crafts. It's too bad that I'm going only for one day. If I could join, I'd earn cool badges and do fun activities. To be a girl scout, you need to be determined, confident, and cooperative. I would really like to learn more about what girl scouts do.
Who knows? Maybe I'll become a girl scout myself someday!

Hey guys!

Today, at my school, there was an assembly held in which a lady explained to us about disabilities. I enjoyed the assembly very much. There were activities planned for the children to experience how it would be like to have a disability .One activity required putting on a mask and arranging blocks using sense of touch.  It showed you how it would be like if you had a visual disability. Over all, I'd say the activities were really fun!
Also, in the assembly, a lady explained different types of  disabilities to us. We learned fancy words for such disabilities, like cerebral palsy. In the end of the assembly, the lady revealed that she had 2 disabilities, mobility and visual disability. Then, astonishingly, the lady rolled up her pant sleeve and showed us that she had a mechanical leg due to an infection. Also, she was blind from her left eye. Everybody gasped. The lady must have been so proud and brave to have been up on the stage teaching with such disabilities.
Boy, I am very thankful that I don't have any disability!!!

Hi everybody!

Well, fall break at my school is over. I totally hate Mondays, but not because the weekend ends and its back to school. In fact, I love school! Its a place to  learn, make friends, and even have a little bit of fun. I love the activities that my school participates in. Recently , a member of the PFG organized a activity where the school had to plant bulbs which will grow into beautiful plants by Spring.
At school, I have lots of friends and an awesome teacher. My favorite subject is writing ( mostly because I am very good at it). I am apart of quite a few extra curriculars at school, like chorus, band, recorder club, and patrolling at playgrounds for the younger children.
School's purpose is to give people education for a bright future, and they're doing a pretty good job at it!!!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday, I went to karate class. It 's sooooooooo fun and  I am a yellow belt now. I started karate just this year. Karate taught me a lot of things. I learned even more discipline and am now more confident then ever. I go to  Dragon Kim's Karate U. S. A, along with my friend and sister. Sir Kim, sir G, and sir Viper are my karate instructors. When I look at them, I think, woah! Where can I get muscles like that? Sir Kim is in charge of the karate dojo. He's the tallest one with the biggest muscles. I guess that'll be your appearance if you take karate as long as he did!
So far, my sis, friend, and I all have these HUGE trophies for passing the " white belt" test. I can't wait 'til I'm a black belt!!!

Hey everyone!

Yesterday, I went to my friends' house to make cupcakes. It was soooooooo fun! First, my friends and I , with adult supervision of course, helped make the batter. Some of us even got to lick it! Next, we all played in my friends' bedroom while the batter was in the oven and it was cooling down. After that came the fun part. We got to decorate the cupcakes! There was blue and pink frosting, sprinkles, candy toppings, and whipped cream. I love the color blue, so I poured tons of blue frosting on my first cupcake. Although I decided that I should try the pink frosting too, so I put that on my second cupcake.
There were hands rapidly grabbing the cupcake decorations. By the time everybody was done decorating their cupcake, there was no frosting or topping left! Still, everybody had lots of fun. It was a very creative idea to make cupcakes. I totally enjoyed hanging out with my friends, and of course, devouring my mouth-watering cupcake!!!

Hey everyone!

Recently, my grandparents came over to my house to stay for two days. I never knew grandparents can be filled with so much wisdom and kindness. I asked my grandmother about her childhood. She remembered almost everything! My grandmother even remembered placing a necklace made of flowers around the neck of the one and only, Indira Gandhi !
I then asked my grandfather about his childhood. He also remembered almost everything. My grandfather told me about his life in the villages. He remembers his school and the times he did mischief with his siblings!
Now that I know so much about my grandparents' past, I hope to share their memories with my cousins. <3

Hi everybody!

Welcome to "Navya's Blog"! I will try to post at least once every week.

Anyway, Diwali is coming up! It's right around the corner. In fact, Diwali is tomorrow. My parents are preparing for Diwali. They are intensely cleaning our house left and right, and they're placing dias, ( Indian candles), all over the house. Tomorrow night, they'll recite these loooooooong prayers and we will then  eat Indian sweets as part of Diwali celebration.
Personally, my favorite  part of Diwali is the fire crackers . I remember the time when I was little and my friend threw fire crackers right next to me. Boy, was I ever scared! Now, whenever I throw firecrackers, I use the same trick on my little sister!
Feel free to visit my blog whenever. Again, I will try to post at least once a week. Happy Diwali  !!! :)
